Dear Markus, Thank you for your detailed e-mail which contains obvious issues on which I agree and others on which I don't necessarily agree. To be constructive I am not going to (re)start long discussion by e-mail, and prefer focussing on the interest of the workshop. I insist about the necessity of the Workshop, but to be reduced to half a day if the workshop is devoted to the CPP. Among the 5 sessions you propose the CPP has only ONE HALF session. To contribute to the other sessions, we don't necessarily need the input SINEX files submitted to the CPP. Therefore, the proposed Workshop is not a CPP workshop but rather an IERS workshop which is not a bad idea in principle. Since most of the participants, I guess, have presentations at the AGU, then we should avoid pre-presentation/repetition of the AGU slides. This what would be the case for Jim and me if we would like to contribute to your session 5, Local ties, since we would present our recent work on tieing GPS and VLBI frames using the current available local ties. Another example is the message sent by Jan Vondrak this morning proposing to present his AGU paper, and there would be and I know others in this case. I would much more prefer a small workshop with real discussion of the CPP objectives, problems, methodology, etc., avoiding of course repetition of Nice meeting, and why not some preliminary results, and hence a half a day seems to me a good compromise.
