         Title:  Preliminary announcement, 1998 IERS Workshop

     The IERS Directing Board has decided that the 1998 IERS Workshop will 
take place

 
           Monday, 28 September 1998 through Friday, 2 October 1998
           at the GeoForschungsInstitut (GFZ), Potsdam, Germany.
                

     The specific topics to be addressed at the workshop are expected to be:
 
 	  - Implementation of the ITRF
 	  
 	  - Combinations of data for IERS products
 	
 	  - Monitoring Global Geophysical Fluids     
 
 
      The date and place considered earlier (April 1998, Grasse) are cancelled.
 
      More information on the Workshop organization and local arrangements will
 be given early in 1998.
