Outage of iers.org data servers on November 3, 2018

Date 30 Oct 2018

Please note that the IERS data servers will not be accessible for several hours on next Saturday.

Due to maintenance work at the power supply system of BKG's premises at Frankfurt am Main, all servers located there have to be shut down next Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 5:00 UTC until the end of the maintenance work. This means that also all iers.org data servers (datacenter.iers.org, data.iers.org and ftp.iers.org) will not be accessible during that time. For www.iers.org we will use an alternate server located at BKG's Leipzig premises, so that the IERS web pages should work properly. However, most data pages will not be seen on www.iers.org on Saturday during the shutdown period.

In urgent cases, please use the data and conventions provided by IERS' product centres:

It is expected that BKG's complete Frankfurt network will run again on Saturday in the late afternoon UTC or even earlier. However, in the case of serious difficulties the outage of a few servers may last until Monday morning UTC.

BKG's IT team will do its best to have operations fully restored in as short a time as possible.

We apologize for the inconvenience this will cause our user community.
